Ever wished you could redesign parts of campus to be more walkable, bike-friendly, or just more inviting?
Now’s your chance! Join us for an interactive, hands-on Place It! workshop where your ideas will help shape the future at UC Davis.
What’s Place It!?
Forget long surveys or endless brainstorming sessions—this workshop taps into your creativity in a whole new way. Using everyday found objects (provided at the event), you’ll build models that reflect your memories of spaces and your vision for an ideal campus. The first part of the activity is done individually, helping you connect with what matters most to you in a space. Then, you’ll work in groups to design the future—together.
Why Should You Join?
This isn’t just a fun creative exercise (though it definitely is that!)—it’s a chance to directly influence campus planning. Your models will help planners understand what’s important to our community, ensuring that real changes reflect real needs. Most people don’t realize that urban and campus planning starts with ideas from the people who use these spaces every day—that means you!
To kick off the workshop, all are invited to join a Sensory Walk from 2 to 3 p.m., starting outside the entrance of the Student Community Center. This optional, reflective stroll through select campus spaces is designed to spark creativity and deepen your connection to the environment. It’s a perfect warm-up for the hands-on Place It! workshop, but entirely optional—feel free to attend just the walk, just the workshop, or both!

At the event, we’ll unveil the lucky winner of a Brilliant 'L' Train bicycle by Priority Bicycles, valued at $749! This sleek, sustainable ride is a perfect fit for UC Davis’ commitment to eco-friendly transportation. Join us as we celebrate and award the bike to its new owner.
