Campus Planning

The Office of Campus Planning is responsible for the management of campus as an intentionally composed built environment that supports university goals and ensures the campus has the necessary facilities and amenities to remain competitive. The Office of Campus Planning anticipates possible futures and guides the physical development of campus as an intentionally composed built environment that supports university goals for generations to come. 

Staff responsibilities:
  • Authoring and implementing of UC Davis Long Range Development Plan
  • Preparing district and neighborhood planning guides
  • Performing site suitability analyses and selection of appropriate site(s) for all campus projects
  • Preparing site guidelines for all projects and performing the land assignments
  • Anticipating the future needs of campus and performance of long-term planning, beyond the LRDP, for intergenerational planning of campus
  • Preparing of campus circulation and open space plans
  • Advising project designers on physical planning issues
  • Developing land use plans and addressing policy issues on public-private partnership projects
  • Coordinating of land use concerns with the community, city and county governments
